Lest we Forget

Armistice Day November 11 November 1945.  A day never to forget.   The closest Sunday to that day is always designated as Remembrance Sunday.  Symbolised by the Poppies of Flanders Field for us certainly in this country we know what the Poppy symbolises.  But buying your Poppy also symbolises a practical use in helping those who have fought for their country and sustained injury. Thus giving them some sort of way of moving on with their lives often despite serious injury.  A worthy cause in memory of those who gave unselfishly to those they did not know.  Very humbling.

I always remember Armistice Day for another reason.  It was my Pop's (Granddad's) birthday.  Happy birthday Pop.
